Welcome Message

"Ammi" is Hebrew for "My People," one of God's covenantal terms used in the Tanakh for Israel. Ammi Ministry is a Christian ministry to Jewish people. We do not ask you to "convert" to Christianity. The message of the Prophets to the people of Israel was always, "Return to the Lord your God!" We believe that in today's context, returning to God means accepting Yeshua (Jesus) as Israel's Messiah. But here again we do not ask you simply to accept this belief. First, we ask you to commit yourself to study the Tanakh, Israel's Holy Scriptures. This site helps you study these Scriptures. Then we encourage you to follow where Moses and the Prophets lead you. If the Word of God leads you to believe that Yeshua is Ha Mashiach (the Messiah), then commit your life to him, for as the name Yeshua (Hebrew for "Salvation") implies, he came to save his people from their sins.

How This Site Is Organized

This Web site is organized into two major divisions:

  • Materials for Jewish inquirers who would like to investigate what Moses and the Prophets have to say about Ha Mashiach (the Messiah). Is Jesus the Messiah? Click "Jewish Inquiries" in the menu.
  • Materials for Christians who wish to learn more about Jewish feasts and customs, biblical prophecy, and sharing the Gospel with Jewish friends. Click "Resources for Christians" in the menu.

Our Pledge

There are many Jewish Web sites that represent anti-missionary organizations. The purpose of these organizations is to present material to counter the arguments of Christian missionaries to Jewish people. Ammi Ministry and this Web site present materials that argue from the Tanakh that Yeshua is Ha Meshiach (that Jesus is the Messiah). We do not object to Jewish organizations that present arguments from the Tanakh in support of Judaism on this issue. Contact us and we will discuss any biblically-based argument with you.

Please be aware, however, that some--though certainly not all--of these anti-mssionary Web sites accuse organizations such as Ammi Ministry of using deliberately deceptive arguments. Some of these sites also misrepresent both Christianity and its goals in Jewish missions. For example, one such Web site states that the goal of such mission endeavors "is the eradication of the Jewish people through assimilation."

We pledge to you that this is not our goal. Our founder, Ron Elkin, was born Jewish and remains Jewish. We believe and teach that accepting Yeshua as the Messiah of Israel in no way renounces or repudiates your Jewishness. Think about it: if the God of the Tanakh, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, did indeed send Yeshua, King Messiah, then believing on him is nothing less than returning to the Lord God of Israel. We also believe in the future fulfillment of all the promises made to Israel in the Tanakh. We pledge that the material presented here is based on honest biblical scholarship and is not deceptive in any sense. Yes, we would like you to believe that Yeshua is Israel's Messiah and Savior--but only if you believe our case is built on the correct interpretation of the Tanakh--the meaning intended by Israel's prophets who wrote it. We are always ready to discuss any honestly raised questions or biblically-based counter arguments.
